Antonym Cosmetics Baked Foundation in Medium Dark

Viva l’Italia!

Italy.

Land of pasta, romance, wine, George Clooney’s villa on Lake Como, and baked powder. A long time ago, someone told me that if you want the best baked powders, go to Italy, which someone at Antonym Cosmetics apparently did, because their bad-@ss $38 Baked Foundation hails from the boot,

I think it’s a little inaccurate, though, to call this a baked foundation. “Baked tinted moisturizer” might be more apt. First, this isn’t full coverage, and it isn’t super dense like so many other baked foundations are. The coverage is sheer but build-able up to medium, and the velvet matte finish is one of the most convincingly skin-like finishes I’ve ever seen.

Antonym Cosmetics Baked Foundation in Medium Dark ingredients

Like every powder product I’ve tried from the cruelty-free organic Antonym line so far, this is all kinds of fabulous. It’s a lot like MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, a.k.a. “The only powder I’ve worn every day for the last five years.” (It’s that serious.).

But as much as I love MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, I think this has an even finer formula, and because I like it when my skin actually looks like skin, it’s amore! It looks oh, so natural, whether on bare skin, where I’ll usually apply it after a sunscreen by Drunk Elephant, or after foundation or tinted moisturizer.

If your powder prerequisites include full-on Insta-glam opaque coverage, you probably won’t be into this at all, but if you just want to even things out while retaining the little freckles, beauty marks and occasional cat scratches that make you, you, Antonym Cosmetics Baked Foundation is where it’s at.

Recommended for all skin types, especially those belonging to people who like natural-looking finishes and minimal coverage…and assuming you can find a shade that works for ya, since there are only six available. It comes in Fair, Light, Nude, Medium-Beige, Medium Dark and Dark.

MAC definitely has them beat there, for sure, with their 18 shades of Mineralize Skinfinish Natural.

(Psst, Antonym! Check out what Fenty also did, and broaden your shade selection.)

If you’re interested, I’d suggest getting it from Sephora, because you might want to use their generous return policy if a shade doesn’t work out for you.
