Chapped lips are never attractive, but with dry lips, it’s impossible for any type of lipstick to look good on your pretty pout. Chapped lips can be caused by dehydration, sun damage, acid from fruits, allergies and even change in weather. Keeping yourself well hydrated, as well as applying sunscreen on your lips, will help you in trying to having smooth lips. However, if you’re looking to avoid chapped lips, then here are some natural remedies to help keep your lips looking healthy.
Sugar and Honey
You can create an exfoliating paste, by mixing sugar and a teaspoon of honey together. By rubbing the paste on your lips, the sugar will soften your lips, because you will be getting rid of any flakes and dry skin. Honey is also a good for the lips due to its antibacterial properties.
Coconut Oil or Castor Oil
If you don’t have honey, then you can also create an exfoliating paste with sugar and oil. Coconut oil will keep your lips moisturized and will make them look smoother if you apply it daily. Oils like coconut oil and castor oil also have the ability to make the lips feel smooth, because of the fatty acids that they contain.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera will help to get rid of any dead skin cells, and also offers healing properties. It is said to strengthen the skin on your lips. All you have to do is scoop the gel out of the aloe leaf, and apply the gel before going to bed.
